Sr. Manufacturing Technician
The Senior Manufacturing Technician, reporting to the Production Manager, is a member of the production team and is responsible for performing the assembly, inspection and testing of laser systems. This position also, adjusts optics, operates test equipment and collects data during product testing throughout production. The Senior Test Technician assists in the continuous improvement of vendor and component selection, manufacturing and quality processes, assembly instructions, and all necessary manufacturing documentation.

Algorithm Developer / Systems Analysis
OptiMedica is looking for an experienced algorithm developer / systems analyst to support the development and production of its expanding line of innovative ophthalmic instruments. Candidate must be fluent in LTI systems, fluent in implementation of algorithms on physical systems, and ideally would have experience in optics, real time optimization, image processing, C/C++, Labview, Labview programming for FPGA, software best practices, and be familiar with medical device environment and its regulations. Ability to quickly solve challenging problems in unfamiliar domains is essential. Candidate will function as a key trade-off maker for complex medical systems.
Strong skills and experience with tools such as Matlab, Excel, and ability to develop skills in LabVIEW programming for FPGA, LabVIEW applications, and higher level applications on Windows operating systems are required in order to develop and supervise automated test, measurement, data acquisition, and control systems. Software / Firmware Engineer

Electrical/Electronics Manufacturing Engineer
OptiMedica is looking for an experienced Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing Engineer to support the production of its expanding line of innovative ophthalmic instruments. Candidate must be familiar with electrical and electronic best practices and have ability to quickly solve challenging problems.
Strong skills and experience in analog and digital electronics design, analysis and testing. Candidate will actively participate in component selection & specification across multiple projects. Must be able to work with limited guidance/supervision and be able to test, evaluate, document, qualify and release designs for complex projects involving medical laser equipment.
Will work in a team environment with other engineers (of varied disciplines) as well as management and manufacturing personnel to sustain/improve existing products and deliver new products to market.
Job Functions:
- Applies electrical and electronic engineering principles and concepts to evaluate new designs for function and performance. System integration of new components and designs into high performance optical and opto-mechanical systems and sub-systems.
- Work with outside suppliers, PCBA Designers, Board Fabrication Houses, PCBA assemblers, Cable manufacturers and contract manufacturers for development, qualification, release and introduction of new electrical and electronic systems, boards, components and cables into production.
- Collect/ review data and communicate both status and recommendation on technical issues by preparing technical reports and presentations.
- Initiate, execute & review product changes via OptiMedica’s ECO process.
- Provide support for incoming component & PCBA inspection, tracking of component issues, and supplier interfacing to assure product quality.
- Provide continuous support for manufacturing and resolve complex electrical/electronic manufacturing issues.
- Develop assembly instructions, test methods, PCBA test procedures and create test and qualification reports for new product introduction.
- Reports to Director of Product Development and/or the Director of Operations.
- Resolve non-conforming material issues/in-process failures and represent department through the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
- Generate IQ and OQ test protocols/reports for equipment and fixtures.
Requirements / Skills:
- Highly developed problem solving, communication and teamwork skills.
- Solid background in analog and digital circuit design.
- Experience with Lab View and NI products a plus.
- Five years experience working with product development team to transfer new products into production for commercial sale. Key participation in the test and integration of successfully shipped medical products is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge, experience and understanding of electrical & electronic drawing standards, schematics and Gerber files. Experience with ORCAD Schematic Capture and Board Layout Design strongly preferred.
- Must be well organized and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with Electrical Safety & EMC/EMI Qualification Testing for Medical Equipment.
- Experience with, and full understanding of, Design For Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles and practices.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or equivalent.Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Math Ability:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.Reasoning Ability:
